Located just 12 miles from downtown Charleston, the Isle of Palms rests on acres and acres of natural beauty. It’s said that some of the first occupants of the island were pirates who left behind buried treasure among the unspoiled dunes and woods. Today, residents and visitors enjoy six miles of mesmerizing white sand beaches that are a treasure all their own.
The only problem you would face on Isle of Palms is figuring out how to fit all the activities offered into your day. Residents and visitors can spend their time enjoying live beachfront music at the Windjammer, playing beach volleyball, or just relaxing under the sun on the miles of beaches at your doorstep. Jet skis and boats can be rented to explore nearby islands. Isle of Palms even has a designated Turtle Team that monitor nests during hatching season. Watching hundreds of baby turtles hatch and start their individual journey to the sea, is an amazing scene to witness.
